I have another problem with my 02 eclipse, i took it to this "import mechanic", and he said that i need a new computer system..........or w/e.My car has 50000 miles on it, does this sound likely that my computer system went????? All it basically is doing, is stalling constantly and the rev idle will go up and down, its quite annoying, someone plz plz help me out

 

What type of car? Any mods? We need more info.

do you have any CELs? if so, what code is it throwing?

 

yes the CEL is on, and its throwing a miss fire on the spark plug in cylinder 1, but i replaced the spark plugs, and still had the light come on and the same problem.

 

Why don't you try replacing the spark plug wires

nah, the wires have just been replaced by brand new factory spark plug wires, and the spark plugs have been checked by 2 mechanics and changed twice.I also installed a new coil. But still not working

 

Get a gst, solve the problems your having now, and youll be happy having not so much of a chick car, although you will have problems with that as well. I would say its the ecu, it is a mitsu after all, and I know alot of the newer hondas that come into my shop read cyl. 1 misfires, and the ecu is to blame.

 

no no no.. he wants a GSR. He says a dsm is too unreliable for him.
