im trying to fix my girlfriends eclipes. i did the transmission filter and gasket bcause it was leaking and the fluid was very old. i added approximatly 3 qts. after to make up for what was in the pan and any leakage. i don't know much about auto trannys so please help. I checked the level while the car was up to temp and kept getting different readings on the dip stick. i tried to drive it and went about 100 feet before the throttle did nothing unless pushing down on the gas to about 3K rpms then it would almost stall and would catch and move. sounds very weird. do i not have enough fluid? or would this do this if there was to much. please help me i need the car tomarrow

does it sound like the tranny is slipping like if it was a 5 speed and you go to take off and it slips if so sounds like you need to put more fluid in it. dip the stick a couple of time and take the reading that comes up the most . also turn the dip stick some times one side comes up ore then the other if so add fluid.
