Default stumbling between shifts

ill start off by saying that my bov is recirculated to avoid that as somones answer

HKS SSQV

ive always suspected my ssqv of leaking due to its 2+ yrs old..well i took it apart yesterday. Wut i found on the inside was kinda odd. The 2 valves on the inside had come apart..the bigger black valve has 4 peg holes that it sits in to keep it snug with the small purple valve...well the black valve was complety out of all the peg holes just hanging out in there not sealing properly when it would blow off so my next shift i would leak all the pressure out, so now i fixed that problem by seating the valve back into the peg holes and now it seals properly....BUT now when im driving i get this stumbling flutter noise between shifts it also feels like my car falls on its ass..while im boosting and i let off my RPMS will drop drastically between shifts(and yes it is recirculated) and i hate the way my car drives now when i shift it feels like i hit a brick wall..im not sure if this is comp. surge or just the nature of the BOV..but only other time ive heard this is sound is when i first put it in.

Have you checked under the hood since you re-installed it. It may be possible that the BOV may not be tightened all the way, or may have even blown out of the pipe. That happened to me one time when I took my SSBOV off and reinstalled it. My car ran liek crap between shifts and even stalled. Limped it back home from my neighborhood entrance (where the problem occured), and popped the hood. Found the BOV pooped out of the I/C/ pipe. Make sure that thing is tightened down good. Also make sur ethe vac line is connected. Check for any other leaks and also check to see if there is a possible kink in the recric. hose for your BOV.

Also, have you tampered with the adjustment screw at all on the BOV? If so, that may be the source of the problem as well. Since it was running fine before you took the BOV apart, it's most likely BOV related. I'd also check the diaphragm of the BOV one more time too, if the above symptoms don't seem to be apparent.

im not really sure some poeple say that they get the fluttering sound also at part throttle and some say they get a whistle which i do get also

yes ive been under the hood alot since i put it back in. ive checked all the ic pipes..there fine...i dont know how your bov popped off the pipe with that stupid c-clip...that thing is brutal...vac lines are fine. The screw in the back is as far out as it will go without falling out..... very strange

It didn't pop out of the c-clip. The actual flange that the BOV sits on, popped out of the I/C pipe. My turbocharger then started making a really high pitched whistling sound, versus the regular spool sound, thought my turbo crapped out on me. Found out it was the BOV.

Only other things I'd check, are the actual recirc hose (makes sure there are no kinks and that the two ends of the recirc hose are sealed properly and the actual diaphragm of the BOV itself.

Sounds like your car is stumbling due to air/fuel mixture problems, the the BOV is most liekly causing. BOV may not be dumping the correct amount of air back into the intake for some reason. THE HKS SSQBOV should be having a "flutter" sound. Mine has alkways had a flutter sound. Well, it can actually vary, depedning on the boost level and RPMs, sometimes it;s more of a whoosh, sometimes more of a flutter.

sounds like a boost leak why dont you go and see if you cant get another bov you might of blocked something off when you were putting the bov back together, defentely something with the bov.

Yeah, what DSMTuner just said is a good idea. You can check out a junk yard for 1G turbos and get the BOV from that, or people on DSM forums usually have them for sale cheap too.

Might be kind of hard to do if he doesn't have the 1g/ssq adapter for his bov and has the welded flange that comes with the hks ssq...

i have the welded flange made for the bov so i think the 1g is out of the question unless i change my uicp or they make a reverse adapter for the HKS but until that happens or i magically have money in my account im stuck with this thing trying to fix it...thursday im prolly gonna rip my whole boost system apart and start over and try to locate wuts causing this cuz its pissing me off...my car runs almost perfect now besides for this little problem
