Losen the lock nut and adjust the master cyl rod by turning it clockwise/counterclock wise. The adjustment is near the accel. pedal.

I'm not sure if I am understanding you correctly. But, the clutch pedal assy. might be worn and need replacing. Its common on older 1Gs.

Its kind of a PITA, but not a "difficult" task. The FSM has the procedure in it.

You can also put a longer push rod on the slave cyl on the front of the tranny. They sell the rods at home depot. Just cut to fit. You might have to make a couple till you find the right one. Good Luck

Default clutch

Thanks for everyones input, the clutch works beautifully, now for the answer. If someone ever has this problem where the clutch doesnt engage, or engages partly begin looking for simplicity rather than transmission problems. It seems that it will happen to only the older 1st gens with the heavy spring return not the little one that goes on the pedal bar, The springs actual motion loosens the locknut that holds the pedal assembly onto the bar that runs across the top of both the clutch and brake pedal. To avoid the problem. I just put a newer clutch assembly out of a newer 1st gen under the dash to make sure it wont happen again, add this one to the books folks.
