I want to turbo my engine, one of them at least. Now It seems the 420 can handle a decent amount of boost on the bottom end stock, but I have the chance to buy a 2.4l block. And I'm assuming the bore stroke on the 2.4l is longer than on the 2.0. Also I'm not sure what year eclipse 95-99 has a non turbo 2.4l engine, if any. And to do the turbo upgrade I plan on just starting out with intercooler, headers, and what else am I missing?

all non turbo convertables from 96-99 came with a 2.4 ltr mitsubishi motor (4g64)
As for the 420a motor i would check with people at the http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php board.

do you plan on swaping in the 2.4L in the 2g na eclipse? Because this is near impossibile.

Do you know even what 2.4L he's talking about? I know which one your assuming, but many people made a 2.4L. Chevy made a 2.4L 4 Cylinder engine and it made it into many trucks and shitty cars. There is a chrysler 2.4L that is same design as the 420a motor which as far as motor designs go, should bolt in and work in a 2gnt.

Don't be too quick to pass judgement.

Very nice. The engine I may swap is a 2.4l DOHC from a 2002 stratus, however I'm missing the ecm and the wiring harness so im not sure what my plans are. I may just want to take the lower and of the 2.4l and the top end of the 420. But right now I'm just going to get the stratus engine because its only 100 dollars with 32k miles on it. So I figure its worth it to expiriment.

If you can wrench on cars.... dosen't mean you know a damn about performance, or driving.... but if you can wrench ie. parts changer. lol, Then I think this would be a great experiement. As long as you don't mind your car being out for a while, while the experiment takes place. $100 sounds like a hell of a deal. Even if you dont use it in the 2g, I think you could resell to a higher end parts yard for more.

Ey Gs Eclipse how much u spend on teh turbo parts? U gotta show me once ur project is finished, i wanted to start mine but....more engine problems car is becoming a money pit.

i am very interested in droppin that 2.4L into my auto 97 eclipse.. so let me know how it goes..and by the way..my gfs dad does welding for a living and is a great welder.. i am wondering if he can help me swap a 4g63t into my eclipse.. u guys said i would need a good welder..and i found one..can this be done?

not much maybe like 600 bucks or so .... the parts i have so far are safc 1 390 injectors walbro fuel pump autometer boost , a/f gauge pillar sfmu turbo xs bov and an hks bov not sure witch 1 i want ... i think the hks and i also have a greddy 24 intercooler and greddy TT
