Default dsm needs help

I need to know if any one out there has the computer to spit out any codes my car might be giving it still is running like shit .Its either find someones computer or bring it to a shop to put it on the computer . thanks:bbb:

You can get the codes with a non digital multi meter.

how would i do that. My brother works in the school auto shop he has the computer but not the right hook up
