Desperately need car help!!!
For all you Mitsu techs out there i hope you can help me figure this problem out soon.
Here's the situation. It involves a '94 3000gt. The car cranked up and was running just fine 41 days ago. However, it had been sitting since it was towed off the streets for the owner was DUI. All i know is that today i went to start the car for the first time since being towed, and nothing happened. I had put a fully charged battery in place of the old one that went dead before trying to crank up the car. There were no keys with the car so i had a master key made from the dealer. The car did not have a key fob either(don't know if they came with them???) It did however have a siren horn for some kind of alarm...don't know if it was stock or aftermarket. So i don't know if an alarm that was activated and when the battery went dead would cause a problem, of if the alarm system can be reset(hopefully easily).
Anyways, when i went to turn the ignition on absolutely nothing happened. The starter didn't even turn over. All acc. are in perfect operating condition. I can't figure out if this may be something electrical or a switch of some sort. Did the 94's come with immobilizer systems on them from the factory? Other than an immobilizer system interupting the circuit i can't think of what might prevent the car from starting(other than a dead starter).
Any constructive help would be appreciated as i don't want to have this thing towed. BTW....does there happen to be a Mitsu tech at one of the local dealers on the board that could help out?

First thing is look at the make of the alarm horn. That usuallly gives you an idea if its an aftermarket alarm or factory. I do believe though with an aftermarket alarm most of the time when you reconnect a powersource to the car the alarm will go off until you disable it. OR you can pull the piece of plastic underneath the steering colum and look for an aftermarket "brain" or square black box.
don't know anything about mitsu's really, but on my Trans Am it's got an ignition-kill that's only disengaged when you hit the unlock button on the key-fob.....if you don't hit the button, then when you go to turn on the car, all the electrical/ACC stuff would turn on, but the starter won't engage.....I'm guessing that's exactly what you're experiencing on your mitsu.....try and find a kill switch (might be one hidden?) or you're prob gonna haveto find the right key fob....or rip off the alarm system/cut off all together

Also google will do you wonders....
The Mitsubishi 3000GT's comfort and convenience features include standard air conditioning (switched to R-134a in 1994), an available tailgate wiper/washer, power windows and door locks, speed control, a security alarm, and a remote keyless entry system which became available in 1993. Front low-back bucket seats with recliners and height adjustment are standard on all 3000GT models. Leather seats are standard in the SL and VR4 but are not available in the base model.

Thanks for the google schooling, but fobs do not neccessarily(sp?) "arm" an alarm. Sometimes they simply lock/unlock/trunk release. Assuming the fob did arm and unarm a factory security system does anyone know of a way to cercumvent(sp?) that feature to get the car started?

^^Geez, thanks. There for a minute i thought this was an actual car enthusiast site. What was i thinking that it would have more exposer in the "Free For All." I think that implies that "anything" can be posted in there. Eh, who's payin attention anyway, right?
