Deciding between '97 GST and '99 RS
Deciding between '97 GST and '99 RS
Hey guys. I'm a Nissan person, as is/was my gf. Then her 300 took a shit, and she's in the market for a new car.
Anyway, we're deciding between these 2 cars, and would like some insight on them.
1) 1999 Eclipse RS, 48k miles. Red, auto, all options. $7k
2) 1997 Eclipse GST, 98k miles. Silver, auto, all options. $6k.
I don't know much about the reliability of Eclipse motors or wear items, suspension, known mechanical issues, ect. We're going tomorrow to look at each one, so I'm looking for advice here.
Is 98k too many miles? And everything else I asked above.
The reason we're looking at them is my gf wants a 2-door sporty car with a back seat and a/c. Eclipses seem to fall in that category nicely, and I'm pushing for the GST because well, my car is also turbo
So any input would be greatly appreciated.

If she doesn't care about going fast, might as well go with the RS. Half the mileage and cheaper insurance, it would be a more financially sound decision. But don't expect to make the RS "fast"...go with the GST if that's a concern.

i would get the gst (little biased). they jsut look so much better than an rs. they are reliable if the work is done right or if they are stock. insurance will be cheaper with the rs, but she is a girl and, well lets face it, they get away with murder on insurance.
