Well, when im driving my car.. it sometimes redlines, for no reason, we had it checked out but there isnt anything wrong with it, does this means im accelerating wrong? or is this something every Mirage sports coupe does?? I know i sound like an idiot, but my car shouldnt be doing that, lemme know if anyone knows whats wrong with it! Thankkss

 

I'm assuming it's an automatic? Sure sounds like a bad tranny to me.

 

They over looked the tranny, it doesnt do it ALL the time, i think its done it 2 or 3 times.. but i just wanted to know if this happened to any1 else.. =)

 

ummm.... are you mashing the pedal down at the time??? cause auto's can redline too ya know... just clarify this for me that ur not mashing the pedal

 

i dont think i was, my boyfriend noticed it at first.. then my dad, then me.. but idk.. maybe we were.. but if thats it.. is it bad? Thanks

 

Yeah it could mean your going to need to get your trans rebuilt.

lol, hes the guy that does all of the work on our cars ((except my moms)), and hes low priced, and good, so maybe there isnt something wrong..? lol maybe we were mashin the petal

 

He can't be that good....I would think the tranny would be one of the first things to look at if you're complaining of redlining problems on an automatic.
