Default valve spring compresser

valve spring compresser, um yeah i cant find a style to fit a 4g63 t head, iv tryed three dose any one know what kind to use, i need to rebuild my head this weekend so i cant drive my car thanks for any help

You need the one that pushes on the top of the retainer and holds the bottom of the valve.

try a 17mm socket and a rubber mallet and watch your face.

That works to get them off but your screwed getting them back on.,,

Me and brian(nouseforaname)just reassembled a 4g63t head and it was a bitch.The tool is expensive and kinda hard to find.Good luck

Are you talking about the Miller tool? It looks like I have to buy one eventually because I was stupid and didn't change the valvestem seals while the head was out . On the plus side, I'll be able to throw some Crower springs and retainers in there going by the "while I'm in there" school of thought, for all the good that'll do me without a magnus sm mani/272's/bigass turbo. Somehow I don't think there will be a large gain to be found in raising my rev limiter from 8800 to ~9300 with a 14b, but whatever .

Anyway, if the head it out, build the vfaq tool that I didn't have the resources to build. All you need is a welder, some cheap sockets, and a cheap valvespring compressor, the type that presses on the bottom of the valve. Here:
