Default anyone know why...

ok so i dont have a DSM but a friend of mine does and i know this is one of the more knowledgable tech sites around, i loves me some TR lol. here is what i was told....

its a 95 talon TSi FWD. and he is having issues with "the timing belt just wont stay tight" is there anything that would inparticular cause this, is it common amongst DSM's, or is my friend a moron?

Its either not on right or the timing belt tensioner is bad.

The timing belt on dsms loosens a tad bit when the car is off.Check the specs on normal deflection and see if its normal.

Both of what these guys said is true, I would replace the tensioner anyway to remain on the safe side!!!!

It does however sit loose from time to time while the engine is off.
