whats this mean - i just got it- at first its flashes few times then its just stay on. car run fine. i noticed it was kind of low on oil. so i put in some oil.(2 bottles) but the light still on . what ya think i should check or change first. i'm planning to do an oil change tomorrow. and if my car was dripping oil so much (since so much oil losted) i didn't see any oil on my garage floor

 

there could be other things going on with the engine....our cars are funny that way. Go to Autozone or some place that can do a free check via the ECU and they will tell you the codes. Then get either a Haynes or Chilton Repair manual and look up the codes there and Bam....you'll know why the light is on.

 

Since your car is a 96, do the key dance. Here, if the CEL really bothers you that much, then just reset the ECU. If it makes you feel better, my CEL represents like 5-7 different codes lol.
