AWD dyno
id just like to see what kind of demand you AWD guys give for an AWD dyno, no more welding center diffs, no dropping driveshafts, just roll on, buckle up, pull, and roll off. what would you all be realisticly be willing to pay for this per hour. and please, ask any questions you think are important.

I can see myself getting on a dyno once or twice in the life time of my car. And that would simply just to see what kind of power I was putting down. Otherwise I have no use for any dyno.

Probably not..I all ready have something to tell me what the timing and knock is doing when it happends.....not like the wideband o2 that will only give me half of the equation.

What does timing and knock have to do with wide band tuning.

If I know the timing and knock is good then I really dont need to know what my A/F is doing. I'm not going to overkill it and give myself something else to look/worry about. Maybe someday when I'm tunning a powerful high performance engine I will look into a WB O2.

I would only be interested for getting an HP figure. Probably only a few times over the years. As for rates, what do the local dyno shops charge for their two-wheel drive dynos? 50 an hour? I'd be willing to pay around 75-85 an hour, tops.
As far as wideband goes, I'm going to have that covered.
I've been doing some research on wideband units and I think I'm going to get one when the money permits. Knock and timing are good, in fact I think the only thing the wideband does is give you peace of mind letting you know you're not too lean, and letting you know if you're trying to run too much boost- if it takes a 10:1 afr to keep knock and timing in the proper range at 21 psi, you'd probably be better off running 12:1 at 19 psi for more power. That's how it was explained in a thread on nabr- you're changing from just tuning for knock and timing to tuning for knock, timing, and good afr.
As far as wideband goes, I'm going to have that covered.
