Default Drag Radials

My frined and I have a disagreement over wether or not you are supposed to heat up drag radials (specifically nitto 555r's) to achiteve maximum traction. My guess is that they are best at about 130'f. Help me win some money off this fool.

Nitto 555Rs have to be real hot in order to get good traction with them. I think they have less traction than most average tires when cold.

I wouldn't say less than most normal tires, but definitely less than BFGs "cold".

I would, I have gone through 5 sets of them and they are like ice when cold. When I put other tires on I have more traction. Now once they heat up they are a different story

I'm just saying...with some 225 nittos I pulled 2.0s completely cold and with lets say "not the best driving."

it makes sense that a hotter tire sticks to pavement better than a cold one. thats why drag racers burn out before racing.hot rubber is very sticky.

I have tried this with my camaro. I got better 60ft times with my Fuldas cold VS my nittos cold. And much better 60fts with the nittos hot VS the fuldas hot. Cold nittos suck. This was done in a automatic also so it is a consistand test.
