Lightbulb Looking for Ideas

Hey guys.......Its time to open up shop. I got a 95 Eclipse (non turbo unfortunately) that I am about to completely rip apart and redo all the engine internals. Any suggestions on where I can do the work at??? Places that we DSM owners can trust in tampa you know. Im kinda new to the area and I dont know where to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Everyone i know that works on these cars, works on true mitsubishi motors like the 4g63. There is one or two wide body neon guys(dont remeber what you call the non-turbo 2g motor) in here that have turbo charged their cars. I would get with them or search on that 2gnt site.

Why?

What are your goals and what is your excuse for keeping the NT?

Well, my excuse for keeping the NT is that I couldnt find a Turbo or an AWD when I was shopping. Also if I were to get a turbo model I would have payed more for the car anyway. I was going to automatically make adjustments to change the turbo to either a 16g or 20g turbo from Hahn Racecraft anyway. They supply Bolt on turbo kits for 1st and 2nd gens at a reasonable price. I figure get a car that pretty much doesnt have anything and build it the way I want it. Plus I needed a ride to go back and forth to work in and I didnt have a lot of time to go shopping so I kinda got what I could get.

if you need a car a internal rebuild isnt just a breez, also from the way you are talking you are gunna wanna do head work too, holy shit i have seen machine shops keep them for 2 weeks sometimes. that motor is gunna have to be ripped apart and that means you dont have a car when it is...
i had a n/t that had a rebuild when i bought it and the fuckers that rebuilt it put the intake mani gasket on backwards so that caused my #1 piston and rod melt down to the cylinder wall.... BUT when i got it rebuilt the second time it was bored out to roughly 2.3L and THEN it satarted moving a little bit with all of the other bolt on shit...
so basically you are talking about spending a TON of money doing the internals and not having a daily driver for sometimes up to a week... i mean im trying to help you by just saying be prepared... most people will tell you get a gst but i understand where you are coming from... there are a few guys on here that have rs's or gs's that are turbo and a ton looking to make thiers turbo so your not the only one...
sorry about the novel size post but just my .02

Oh I know it will take time to do and I appreciate everyone's help so far but I dont mind investing my time and cash into making something great come from nothing. My concern is getting started with a trustworthy place to do the work. If I had a garage I would be doing it all myself but unfortunately things didnt work out that way. Does anyone know where I can go to get started??

As far as getting work done, if you don't mind sending in your block to a different state, CHOOSE these guys!!!

VTengines got some really good reviews on 2gnt.com, try asking there.
