Yeah it happened to be when I got my intake and bov. It is because the car isn't getting as much air as it would with the return tube. After I got my safc in it stoped doing it.

Yep, with that tube off you will always run a lot richer than normal, becasue your MAS always adds the extra air from that dump tube no matter what, even if you use a safc, you will still run richer then you should. Only way to get rip of that dump tube is to get a MAF translator and run it blow through, or VPC.

I don't think its a huge problem, but, you will never be able to tune your car perfect with it the way it is.

Your BOV is probably leaking. Ther reason you cant take the retur tube off is the air that is released from it when it opens is air that the mas has already calculated in the cars A/F ratio. That air needs to be recirculated. When you dump to the atmosphere you are releasing air that the car thinks its getting but its not and that is why it runs like shit. They also have a tendency to leak which also will mess with the tune of the car. In short if you want to dump the BOV to the atmosphere get a VPC,GM maf w/ traslator or a stand alone.

There is nothing to be gained by removing that dump tube. Leave it on
