its kind of a bitch since they use 194 wedge bulbs that are built into plastic 1/4 turn recepticles w/ tabs that make contact onto a printed circuit on the back of the clusters (HVAC, Controls, Instrument cluster, etc)

(i think they are the same size as the 194's)

There's a vfaq on changing the cluster light colors I think, or at least a thread on one of the national boards. I think blue is better than orange, but I've never been in a car with that done so I could be wrong. The ricer who owned my car previously put in reverse black on white gauges on mine that seem to have been printed out on a home printer, so my lights are kind of weak and diffuse, but whatever, not worth the effort to change them.

The one up top? There was a guy in a thread who achieved that result with some cheap led's, a lot of them and some time doing custom work. He said it was so bright that it lit up his face, I don't know if I'd like that.

I like the one in the pic a lot. When I get my 1g I'll have to check into that.

DSTGST, how much was your dash kit and what all did it consist of? I'd imagine buying the cheap LED's is just setting yourself up for them burning out and having to do the process all over again.
