Even More Problems
The other day when i was just driving my check engine light came on so i took it to autozone yesterday and they ran the code. Come to find out they tell me i have a leak comin from my Evap Systems.. They told me that i am leakin gas from one of my hoses or something along those lines....Has this hapened to anyone before???what did u do and how much did it cost.??
do you have a car w/ california ECU/emissions crap?
cuz i think you should be able to eliminate all your emissions junk and evap system and rid yourself of this problem... Sean might know more about this than me... since im a 1G guy.

isnt the EVAP shit mainly just reburning vapor? i wouldnt think its a gas leak.. in fact, my dumbass ex gf drove her neon around for more than a year with that very light on.. i could just be a pinprick hole in one of the lines.. prob no biggie... in fact, i think the dumb hooker is still driving around like that. such a shame..

yea, i hate that bitch too
heheh...
seriously, it just catches vapor from the gas tank and purges them into your intake when the computer thinks its the right time (done w/ solenoids and diaphragms). You can basically pull ALL that stuff off, and cap the inlet where the purge line goes from the canister to your intake tube. and then put a breather filter on the vent line that comes from the tank and enters the charcoal cannister.
i did this on my supra and the DSM... you get a whif of raw fuel once in a while... but when its 93 octane... you dont complain
you do smell it when you are refueling at the Petrol station... because the gas entering the tank displaces the air inside it and gets pushed out the ventline... then you would get a BIG whiff of 93... but no liquid leaks.

its just removing anything and everything that is associated w/ the Evaporative emissions system.
you might be able to find more info about it on DSMtalk.com if you search for it, as well as vfaq.com
its easy, you dont have to ADD or buy anything, its just removing stuff and pl ugging holes once the stuff is removed.

lol... the CEL is essential to know that your ECU is still working... its an indicator light. if your ECU wasnt powered, that light would be off...
Just like pain is just an indicator that youre still alive.
