intercooler question
Eric, if you dont mind. What were some of your supporting mods to allow you to run those times? Thats pretty damn amazing. You were on stock internals correct? Within the next few months, ill have everything on my car that i plan to do, and while low 12s seems damn near impossible, i think ill be happy with it. Im guessing the being a good driver cal help lower those times a lot

I had a Super16G on my 2G like 3 years ago. It was a POS. The hardware was junk and the studs provided stripped regularly. The adapter place was a complete POS. The spacer to move the manifold away from the block was genius....lets add a SECOND exhaust gasket for possible leaks. I regularly got stomped by similar cars with the more responsive small 16G. The only place that 10CM is going to help is maybe really high boost levels, and RPM's. I never realized the benefts of it on my car. The turbo itself worked fine. It's just not right for these cars. I wish I had kept the e-mails I have back and forth with Mr. Hahn and his POS hardware. The long studs stripped out in the turbo to mani adapter plate....yeah he charged me for new ones when it was clearly a design fault. Hahn sucks.
That's just my opinion though....

may not be bigger, but mines blacker!
across the whole system however, its a supposed 1.2 psi drop over stock... is that bad/good? i dont know what averages are, and no subaru guys care.. they sell you parts, say this kit is good.... blah blah blah, and on the car it goes...
maybe someone is interested, but my few complaints are...
2nd gen DSM's can use a damn top to bottom core...(dont know about 1g's?) i cant, as seen in the picture.. also.. is it detrimental that the end tanks "curve" like that? also, the "cold pipe" runs right over the damn turbo... i bet thats a good idea
all in all, im happy with my, "ahem" radiator

1.2 psi pressure drop from compressor discharge outlet to the TB inlet is actually not bad at all...
now, if they can keep the pressure drop to a minimum like that, as well as making it really efficient... that would be ideal. it depends on what the efficiency is on your FMIC before we can start suckin eachothers dicks... (sorry, just heard it somehwere once, and thought it was funny
)
Some intercoolers flow really well, but just dont have the ability to discharge the heat thru the fins. like some Tube and fin intercoolers (look like Radiator, Griffin) dont have internal turbulators that push the air up agasint the tube walls to permit the air to transfer its heat to the walls of the tube and allow the ambient air to remove the heat all together. The nice thing about Bar and Plate (like spearco) is, they have internal turbulators that looks just like the face of the IC... they basically alternate layers 90*... its pretty cool and works very well.
