Just wondering how people have their Holley's set up.

I have a 600 vac secondary. I removed the choke added a 1" spacer have installed 57 jets in the primaries and 65 jets in the secondaries, also have a screw to make the secondaries open slightly after the primaries start to open. I had this set up on a stock 12a but leaner. It had hesitation with the stock engine but with my street port the hesitation is gone. The only thing that bothers me is it seems like the top of the power band is flat, not sure why? Tried to richen secondaries, but doesnt seem much different? Their is not much info out their on tunning Holley's on rotaries, I would like to see that change? Let us know how yours is set up, what it is on and how it runs. Mine runs good I would just like a better top end.

Im sure its not street ported,you dont hear ANY overlap.. maybe just the exhast ports open,but I have been and dealt with many rotarys,and when I got yours running I know forsure it wasnt ported,I dont know what to tell you on your engine,I know for a fact it wasnt a new/fresh rebuild,The playes and rotor housings had some carbon/oil build up and to dirty to be a fresh rebuild,

I may be throwing my intake/carb on TampaTonys 85 RX7,then you will see what a street port will sound like,Not to mention he will be running a muffler off the header,and thats probally about it..

BTW to tune your carb correctly ..you need some dyno time..and shit loads of jets for a rotary tuner to play with.

 

If I were you I would get the Carb. set up for a stock 12a b/c from what I heard on that car when I came out there with Tony (rotary7) it seemed to be still stock. Ported engines have an overlap and yours had none . . . unless your car is the first streetported 12a that i have seen with no overlap. After you get the carb. back to the way it is run on a stock 12a then I would play with jets etc . . . but, you might find that the car will run a lot better with the orginal set up. I would have the engine checked if I were you b/c like I said b4 it doesn't seem ported to me. Give me about a week and a half when my car is finished me and Tony will drive by to show you the difference between stock and ported.

Fuck both of you, it is obviously a mild street port. You didnt take the time to check out the engine before I had it in the car. If you did You could cleary see the grind marks in the intake and exhaust, no one is saying it is a monster port. Funny theirs alot of talk from non-running 7's Ha, ha!

I think im the one who got your car running after it sat for 3 days,You got to be kidding me if you think its ported.I know a RB exhast will be baffled down..but dam I have seen PORTED engines on STOCK exhast and you can still hear the overlap..

You didnt see the face of the plates to tell me it was ported..you seen the intake (outside ports) and saw grind marks..LOL that can be anything.. You have NO overlap in the engine sound...

You seen how big my port was...well TampaTony is running my port work..with balanced/lightenend rotors and I will be gladdy throw my shit on his car so you guys can run...I just want to make $80. so I can buy a new clutch..how does that sound?I would love to put a kill on Vid to add one for the new engine..
