Andretti Autosport will put three Indy Lights drivers to work on Wednesday at Road America, with Dalton Kellett and Nico Jamin (pictured) coming from its in-house Lights effort and standout Matheus Leist joining from the Carlin Racing team.
IndyCar's testing rules grant teams an extra testing opportunity if Mazda Road To Indy drivers are given at least a half-day of running, and with the chance to give the Lights trio time in Honda-powered entries, team owner Michael Andretti says it was an easy decision to make for the IndyCar hopefuls.

"And for most of these young drivers, that end goal is to race in the Verizon IndyCar Series," he said. "We are thrilled to give these three drivers the chance to test their ability of achieving that goal. Last year's test deemed successful and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes this year."

Kellett is looking to build on what he learned in testing last year with the team.
"Coming back for a second test in an IndyCar is exciting," said Kellett, who will share Ryan Hunter-Reay's No. 28 entry. "I can't wait to get back on track. I intend to build on what I learned at the Watkins Glen test last year and I'm very thankful for this opportunity from Andretti Autosport. It's one of the amazing parts of this program. The overall goal of this test is to create a learning opportunity that I can use as a steppingstone in the future."
Jamin, the reigning Pro Mazda champion, will get his first taste of IndyCar speed and power in Marco Andretti's No. 27 entry.
"As a driver in Mazda Road to Indy, it is something I have been looking forward to for the last four years," he said. "I definitely feel ready for the challenge, and I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible and making it a great experience. it will be really cool to drive the bigger sister of my No. 27, and to share the car with Marco."
BRDC British Formula 3 Champion Matheus Leist, who won the most recent Lights race, the Freedom 100 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, will continue his rapid rise in America with Alexander Rossi's No. 98 entry.
"This is going to be a mega opportunity for me," he said. "It has been a dream since I was young to drive an Indy car. Hope to have fun and learn as much as I can from the team."
The Andretti team also envisions giving Colton Herta and Ryan Norman, the other half of its Lights program, IndyCar tests at some point in the future.
