06 mazda speed 3 question
where can i find the fuel filter? my moms car all suddenly started getting bad gas mileage, the spark plugs are new and so is the air filter.

dealership or napa. is it throwing any codes? have you tried cleaning the MAF?

only code that its throwing is the t-stat but it goes on and off sometimes for weeks at a time it'll be on, randomly turn on for a day then disappears, i'll check out napa and see what they say

it's very common for returnless systems to rely on the sock only in the tank... you are a Nissan guy.. they do the same thing..

The Mazdaspeed3 didn't come out until the 2007 model year (I guess yours could have been built in 06 but it'd still be an "07")
What spark plugs were put in it? I have been sold the wrong plugs before, which resulted in bad mpg and some misfiring under boost. It was worth it for me to buy the correct plugs from Mazda. They're $15/ea here:

Or you can get the NGKs from Rockauto.com for $10.47/ea.
