dude mazda fucked up when they made the rx-8 no offence to anyone that owns one either but the rx-7 will never be an rx-7 again unless mazda does like every other car company and make some throwback shit

 

trust me, i don't think they'll ever out-do the fd, especially with the info that's been posted.

 

it doesnt matter what they come out with next. Im just saying it better not have anything to do with either of my whips, other than having a wankel in it. Im not some rotary nut swinger... my car serves a purpose and to re introduce it decades later will effectively allow me to find a new car for my purposes. And also maybe burn down local mazda dealerships selling the "new 7"

 

i think all of you are looking at this the wrong why, rather then bitch about mazda making the RX-whatever more masses friendly because its not just another FD be happy that mazda is STILL making rotory powered cars after everyone else gave up on it before some of us even knew what a car was. So quick to dismiss it just because they arnt going back to a car from 93? Iam not saying id want one. but still. think of it like this, its just another rwd mazda to put a 20b in.

 

^ i just dont want them to put a 7 badge on it. Its not a 7. and being based on an mx5 platform screams that. Not that i would mind a rear wheel drive light compact sports car with better suspension geometry to possibly go after the s2000 with... i just feel that by putting a 7 badge on it, they undermine the past and the legacy of the 7's. They need to build a new legacy based on the experience that they have gathered and badge it accordingly, like rx-9. that is all

 

i do agree that naming it rx-7 is stupid, but more because it doesnt make sence to go from RX-7 to RX-8 and back to RX-7....but untill anything from mazda offically comes out, i dont care. there has been talk about another RX-7 before the 8 came out. who knows what mazda is really going to do other then mazda.

btw wtf happened to rx-6 mazda?
