Default Mazdaspeed3 love

Just curious.... I was directed to ths forum from another thread. I recently joined the mazda family and have moved down to Tampa from Washington State. I have no idea where the mazda guys meet up on the weekends or if there is a night life at all? I see this forum has a lot of mazda rx-7 or 8's and miata owners but does anyone have a speed 3? Any information on where to look or how to get started would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think there is a couple people on here with MS3s but mostly we all have rotaries... You are more than welcome to come out to the Marble Slab meets and roll around with us whenever we take road trips and etc... Here in the mazda formums, we are a pretty close knit group, hope you enjoy it

Thanks for the offer! Where is the marble slab meets? I am new to Tampa and have no idea where anything is at. Also what days and times are the meets usually at?

Marble slab meet is every Friday unless otherwise posted at the corner of belcher and gulf to bay in the same shopping center as publix. People start showing around 830-9ish

I don't see a lot of MS3s, but when I do, they always seem to be bone stock. Maybe it's just not popular with the modding group?

Yeah I would have to agree with you. I do not see alot of my fellow MS3's on the road and when I do see them they do look bone stock. I am modding mine though. I think it is one of those cars that does not have a lot of aftermarket exterior backing. You don't see hoods, body kits or lip kits for these cars very often which is usually a give away if a car has been modded. They are fast cars, so i guess they are the ultimate sleeper, becuase they always look stock lol !

Monsta13B told me about the marble slab meet. I looked up the area last night. May be a good place to check out one Friday night? What year and color MS3 do you have? You modding the car or just leaving it stock? It's good to finally fine fellow MS3 guys in the area.

I think they look great in stock form. I like all of the little things Mazda did to the Speed, but the wheels are a tad on the dull side. How well do they respond to mods?

They respond very well to mods. Just a simple mod as a cold air intake adds 12 HP to the car. Mazda built a solid car but they restricted it with parts that slowed cool air to the motor. Just by freeing up the car with more air flow makes great gains in HP. The car is not worth much on a drag strip because the first two gears are not very well placed. But at a 35-40 mph roll its extremely quick. I have seen several videos of MS3's competing well against WRX STi's, Evo's, SRT-4's and mustangs.
