Default Wanna Learn How To Swap.

Well my mazda miata motor just got flooded i believe with water. Atleast thats what the mechanic of mines said. So im looking and wanting to learn how to swap a miata motor. I mean. Swap the same motor into it but just a not flooded one. LOL!! Is it a pain in the butt? How do i do timing? Please chim in and help. Thanks. Its my daily driver.

it got flooded with water huh? hydrolocked maybe who knows..... well n e ways.... in ur case find another motor complete. maybe in the junk yard and take it home and have someone put it in. the junkyard will also install i believe for a price

purchase a haynes manual. It is a good investment.

Pick up this book. Its a must have if you work on your Miata. It covers, engine replacement, timing belt jobs, clutches, top replacement, ect. Worth every penny.

Pretty easy to swap motors(1.6L to 1.6L) in the Miata. My brother and I did it in a day or two, and neither of us had ever even looked under the hood of a Miata before.

Miata is dead simple as long as you remember all the little wiring and crap that goes under the intake manifold. Other than that all I can say is put the engine in without the mounts on. Youll just scratch the hell out of the front subframe. Put them in from underneath afterwards.

just be glad your not trying to pull the rear subframe...oh boy.

Oh also. Take the damn cam sensor and coil pack off the back. Youll surely break it on the firewall.
