not going to happen.....unless you got $$$$$$$$$$

2 totally different drivetrains...engines....ecu's...everything

you're better off swapping in a KL-ZE or the other MX-6 motor if you want more power

both of these threads should help you out....

the 1st link is for a swap into a 2000 Protege like you have....the 2nd link is a swap into a 02 Protege 5, but it's basically the same as what you have

no problem. that site has LOADS of helpful info and a lot more Mazda enthusiast that are willing to help, all the mazda peeps in this section are mainly rotary peeps.

also something else you might want to look into.....if ur engine is still in good shape (meaning you haven't blown a hole in it.....look into forging the engine and turboing it....

i'm not sure if the 00 protege's 1.8L are the same as the miata 1.8L, but if they are i know they will hold boost from turbo's real good.

or a BP-T swap.....

Why don't you just buy a 05 Mazda3 and save yourself a whole lot of trouble? Better yet, buy an 07 MS3.
