Default i need advice

i like the idea of running the rotary that i've got but i don't like the fact that so many people have had trouble with them and whats this i hear about having trouble with my apex seal? i was toying with the idea of putting a rb26 in it or boosting the rotary. but how can i be 100% sure that my apex seal isn't just gonna go out on me? and where locally can i take my car and have the rotors ported? is it more common to just pull the rotors yourself and take them to a machine shop or is there some magic place where dwarves take my 13b apart and send it home with more power?

anyone?

Default hello

Well If you wanna boost the 13b thats a great idea. However you mentioned that you aernt 100 percent sure that the seals will hold up. They hold up longer when not ported or boosted. If you want longer life I recommned you keeping it as stock as possible.
The next thing if YOU want to swap the motor than thats fine also. You will find that there isnt alot of people in this forum that will help you with that. Alot of tampa racing members here believe in keeping "THE SOUL ROTARY" in the rx7 and thats fine too.
If you want to do a rb25 or 26 swap, it will be very costly. Also there aernt to many around.
However any motor swap will be fine if you have money, patientce and someone to do it unless you are good with tools and have space.
I personally would recommend you just drive it the way it is. If it does pop a seal than swap it or port it, or boost it. If it starts and drives fine than enjoy it. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
And keep us updated. Leo

1) use premix if you are unsure your apex seals wont hold, theyll be fine.
2)CHECK YOUR OIL
3)DONT FUCKING OVER HEAT
4)port rotors? no you port the intake ports on the rotor housings, and there are a few places to do it. if the guy is puerto rican then youll get a good build
5)did i say check your oil?
6)dont rev the shit out of it when you start it
7)have fun! 3 moving parts for the win!

use havoline tcw3 premix, 1 oz of premix to 1 galllon of fuel.

if you want an RB then just sell it (to me) and buy a 240. Dont do it to a 7. Its more common in 240s and there are tons of people that will help you, but if you do it to a 7 there are tons of people that will hate you for it. If your going to keep it its just like any other car, take car of it and it will take care of you. Like rotarykidd said, dont rev it over 3k when its cold. check your oil check your check your oil! It takes 5 mins and can save your engine. Get on rotarycarclub and rx7club and start learning.

If you dont want to deal with the rotary, please sell the car......piston swaps fail....
