R4L Rotary Go Kart Meet 7/25/08
Well since gas is getting a bit expensive for a drive I figured we still needed to get together and do some racing. So I have done a little bit of research and found this place Go Karts Racing :: Tampa Bay Grand Prix Go Kart Racing . Unique in the Tampa Bay area, we are an European-Style Karting Center where Pros or Joes can ride a powerful Italian electric OTL Pro-Kart up to 45mph on our new challenging 1/4mile track, completely protected by TECPRO, the safest barrier system available today.
Challenge yourself or compete with your friends, partners and family in a 12 lap race. Tampa Bay Grand Prix is fully equipped with the state-of-the-art timing system OSKAR. Each lap is counted in our computerized system, the best overall lap time wins the race. At the end of each race, you will receive a sheet showing your lap times.
Check your times online, best of the week, bests of the months, and the top Pro-scores.
Juniors are welcome to Tampa Bay Grand Prix, starting from 6 years old and a minimum height of 48" to 12 years old or a maximum height of 56". They can ride a Junior Karts for a 8 lap race and ride with a parent in an Adult Race of 12 laps.

Powerful Electric Italian Pro-Kart
Fully computerized scoreboard, timing system and multiple monitors
1/4 mile track completely surrounded by the high security TecPro barrier system
Fully organized race events for 5 to 100 people
Racing and practice open to the public
Adult League
I believe this could be a lot of legal fun and if a few of us like it enough we can start racing in the league they hold (more details later)... So on that note who is in to do this on July 25th?

Well we are 3 days away from this meet anyone else interested? I will be contacting the place tonight to see if we can get a group rate. I will keep you updated. We are going to try and meet at 7:30 - 8:00 pm and start driving around 8:15.
