suggestions...help?
I have an '06 mazda 3, 2.3 and I want to push my horsepower up around 230hp. Everything is stock right now so I'm starting from scratch. Any suggestions will help, thanks.

other than that, I would suggest trading it in for the speed3....

this will be the most cost effective and correct way of getting to the OP's desired power level
Sure you can turbo your existing Mazda3, but are you gonna do all the supporting mods so you don't tear shit up?
In the long run it'll be cheaper and faster to just trade in for the Mazdaspeed3.
