10% or less ethanol
will straight ethanol hurt the motor? No. It has some advantageous and what not. It burns "better" It takes a higher compression, etc etc etc.
Will the mix shit hurt your motor? Not really. It isn't going to kill the motor, but your gas mileage will drop at least 30 and up to 60 miles per tank. The ethanol needs a different "environment" to do its thing. It wants more advanced timing, and higher compression. It also have a lower level of stored energy. That stuff isn't a problem when it is just ethanol. The problem is, with it mixed with normal gas, you can't advance the timing, you can't up the compression, you can't do anything because of the limits of gas. That means that the ethanol part of the mix doesn't get enough heat and compression to burn until after the main explosion. Which, is right about when the exhaust valve, or port in this case, is opening. That only allows a fraction of the ethanol to actually burn properly. All that added ethanol does to the fuel mix is limit the power of the main explosion. Which leads to a crappy power band, crappy response, and horrible gas mileage.
the short answer, no, it won't kill your motor.

I get horribly horrid gas mileage on ethanol.
