Exclamation New Project.

I am planing on investing some saved up money into a new project car/daliy driver.

But wont be used as a DD untill done, I have a 67 toyota corona coupe (not camry or corolla, i said corona) shell sitting in my garage that me and my dad wants to get running, we're done with its current engine, and are going rotary, were thinking 12a carbed, for money reasons, about how much would it cost to get our money on one in great shape, and get it swaped!? The car its self is almost brand new, my dad has invested alot of money and time restoring this car, and its is fuly painted under body and everything, int. is redone, and sadly suspension and brakes are new, but oem, so hard stiff bumps, with no hard turning and drum brakes all around, lol that will be changed we want to get this thing running first.

Anyone have any suggestions or comments, and a price idea, wut im doing isnt a first, im sure u all know.

A 12A can be had pretty cheap used, if its blown sometimes people damn near give them away. So find yourself a nice cheap 12A and tear it down. Clean off all the parts, and grab a FSM so you can see whats in spec (reusable) and whats out of spec (garbage/ paperweights)

If you've got the money though, I'd suggest buying new rotor housings, they're usually about 400 a pop, but they'll ensure the highest possible compression. A depending on the condition of the other internal parts you'll need new seals and springs. A full rebuild kit from Atkins Rotary is about 1k but if a good number of parts from the original motor can be reused, you'll spend much less. Regardless though, all the soft seals need to be replaced.

Sounds like you're pretty handy w/ the tools, so I'm sure you can figure out a way to mount it, cuz if not that will be expensive.

Another option would be to send it to Rotary Resurection that guy does rebuilds starting @ 1k. Anything from the basic econo-build to port jobs and completely new components.

^^^ Well between me and my dad we can get the swap done, only on a crabed engine though. But rebuilding the motor is another story, but thanks for the tips, and advice, we have actualy done a 12 swap before on a pick up truck, it was easy, since there was so much space!!! the only thing that gave us trouble was the fact that the motor was so small it was to far from the radiator, which was a problem becuase it wasnt an electrical fan, so you know. but it didnt over heat. I want to drive the corona around so bad, making that Brap brap brap, omg music to my ears, the shell is soo light, and a 12a wont be to powerfull, but just right, it is going to be for driving often, but you gotta have power, and I'll be getting enough.

Here's a pic of the pick up truck we did, we did everything that you see done to this thing. EVERYTHING!!!

That truck is on car domain and def. isnt a florida truck. You used o post on here the most stupid questions that any half way shade tree mechanic would know. But now your claiming to have built a rotary truck... and asking questions about a rotary swap... it just doesnt make any fucking sense...

The fact that nothing you just said made any sense doesnt help you any. But... If you put a rotary in a car before its the same thing doing it again. They are very basic motors as is any other motor. its as simple as building mounts and running wires... since its carbed you wont have to worry about ECU or shit...
