Alright, so I'm looking into getting a new car. I got offered a 2nd gen rx-7 but I dont know much about them. I know i really like the cars and they're a pretty solid platform. Just dont know much about their numbers and what to look for as far as defects on them. This is all the info I have about the car:

Has anyone met him/seen his car? What kinda times can I expect to run with this car and is it worth trading a boosted Neon for it? My Neon currently runs 14's on the 1/4 and I'm pretty happy with it.

 

if this rx7 is bridge ported it better be faster than 14 secs. now as far as being reliable. heeeeellllll the fuck no. once it got bridgeported, its reliability was thrown out the window. my suggestion is that if you've never worked on a rx7, dont get it.unless you want to spend half your money paying jeff at maztech or scott at mazport to work on it. also, bridgeports are not stable and i doubt its ready for turbo.

um and yeah ive never seen this zakovywz guy you're talking about.


and ive heard pretty shady things about pito racing. im not saying theyre bad. i just havent heard good things yet.

 

Bridgeports can be reliable.

I just depends on how huge the bridge is.

Also when you knotch the rotor housings,you got to make sure you dont go to close to the water/oil seals.

I had a friend who ran over 100 and something passes on a bridge ported engine,but yeah it was a 12A.

Pito racing.
His car was/is fast.i havent seen it in a while.But i wouldnt take my cars there to have air put in the tires.

I have heard of many horror stories.But heres from my experiance.

I met Pito years ago,bumped into him at Sunshine.i was looking for a GSL SE rear end,he said he had one.$150.

complete! brakes to brakes.

So I go the next day to buy it.
It doesnt have the "pumpkin"

but he willhave one in there,so I say can i look at it?

So now hes going to keep the pumpkin.

I bet your Neon is faster than that 7.

Expecting more than 14 sec out of a bridge 6port still FI in a FC?.Dont expect it.

 

theres no way a BP 6port can possibly run good at all on the stock FI system.

 

fuck no and MOST people who port 6 ports,keep stock injectors and stock fuel pump/stock regulator

 

With a stock ECU i'd be suprised if it runs at all.
