b13T swap questions??????
i'm new to mazda so any help would be appreciated. Some kid wants to sell me an 89 rx7 with a messed up motor for 350. doesn't sound like a bad deal because i want to swap it for a 13BT anyways. What will i need to do this swap other than a full motor and transmission?

stock for stock swap.
engine
computer
engine harness
tranny
driveshaft
rear end
(not sure on which sensors)
If the car has the 5 lug set up (4 piston calipers etc etc) you can still use that set up.If not, then you need to swap it to this set up.
Theres so many ways you can go with this project. It depends whats your purpose and how much you want to spend.
I have a Microtech lt8s new, never powered, never installed with harness and lap top addaptor, this set up retails about $1200.-$1400.Ill sell for 1k cash.
It has a base map and set up for any 2 rotor 13bt

To tell you the truth a 13bt swap is not so easy to do..specially when parts are really hard to find and if you find em they are rather expensive. So have in mind that you will have two spend 2k+ to make it 13bt. Good luck and I wish you the best.

I know cars pretty well, i went to mti for auto. tech. i don't know turbos for shit. what changes were made between the 13b and the 13bt that i need to look out for when i swap? and where can i get everything needed for the swap in one bundle?
now the motor and tranny sometimes come with a harness but you need to relize something the jspec harness runs to the right instead of the left. so when doing the swap you either need to re-wire the harness or buy a us-spec turbo harness.
start searching rx7club.com
This is the EASIEST swap possible between any car out there. All you have to do is rewire ONE wire so you can use the stock tempature gauge. You don't even have to rewire if you don't want. The hardest thing to find is going to be the 13bt knockbox. Gone to rx7club.com as stated above and go to the 2nd gen forsale section and ask for these parts. If you have all the parts this is a 1 day swap if you engine bay is already clean and clear'd.
As for the differences between 13b's and 13bt's is everything. The housings are different, the irons are different, the intake ports are WAYYY different (4 instead of 6.) You will need a custom driveshaft if you plan on using your stock non-turbo rear end, mazdatrix.com sells it, or you can make one and get it balanced.
