I've got myself a 96 miata love the size, handling, and pep. I have alil bit a quirk with the comfort issue. just something doesn;t feel as right as it should. My other cars have been a 93 del sol, 87 rx-7, and 01 celica. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the seats in the miata I don;t know for sure. I'd like to hit up and pick the braisn of all the other drivers out there on some ideas. I could use some nice low cost alternatives to the stock seats and any other ideas on improving cockpit comfort.

 

just adjust the seat around more, sit up more straight and see if that helps. How tall are you? Long legs or long torso? I'm almost 6'1" and have no trouble fitting in any Miata as long as I can move the seat all the way back.

 

I'm 5 10 but have a pretty long torso so I sit kinda high in the car, really lean the seat back to fit. It seems my leg is at an odd angle to reach around the steering wheel for the gas pedal/heel toe and I always have to use my groin muscles to hold it the right way. So that is kinda annoying.

You can cut some padding out of the bottom of the seat to lower your seating position, plus that will put you lower in the wings of the seat for lateral support. I'm hoping that helps, but I plan on switching to a Spec Miata or Kirkley seat soon anyway for my 6 point.

 

ive got some rx7 seats if you want them. you can have them for the low cost of 25 bucks, i just want them out of my garage.

Miata seats own over FC seats in looks and comfort, in my own opinion ofcourse .

 

btw a smaller steering wheel (330mm or less) makes a HUGE difference

 

after having 2001 celica seats, its kind of hard to find something as comfortable.

 

thanx for the imput i'll prob start off with smaller steering wheel and move on to better seats as the car mods get more and more crazy
