v8 fc projects
Thats kool to see some FC guys into the v8project... most the time who ever post up this kinda of thread it would be battles between rotary and v8's.. HONESTLY i do not like american cars but when i had my FC, i did research of the SBC into a fc and it was like WOOW.... just the look on other people's face when you pop your hood.. hhahaha.. well just my 02cent..

personally, id prefer to run some crap ass stock mufflers and make the car an utter sleeper. maybe drill some holes in the mufflers to give it a brap brap like sound to it. its really hard to get away with it anymore...non mufflered mid length headers with turn downs, the absurd lumpy idle and the POS 15 dollar home depot hood cowl just give it away.
and honestly, even without power steering, drifting it hasnt been hard at all, tighter radius drifting might be but i havent tried...long flowing drifts over a matter of 60-70 yards are quite smooth, the car practically steers itself to correct, just have to keep a finger or two on it so it cant.
all i know is, if im going to turn this engine to 9000+rpm...you damn well know im making atleast 650rwhp on the motor.

My friends 95' S10 has a 84 350 vette block done up, with some nice heads. He pushes around 7,000rpm's and takes c5 vettes past 100mph pretty easily. It roughly would have have the same weight as an FC. Even with 295's on the back it can't get traction till 4th gear
sounds like he just needs a better tire compound.
i use to have a blown LT1 firebird, that thing would slip and slide till 4th on street tires, tossed some nittos on and it would hook up by 2nd...that put a grin on my face...then i got dot cheater slicks and dead hooked from limiter launches...that was permagrin through the traps. this was only on an 9.2" contact patch slick..roughly a 235 width tire.

They are just some tires that were laying around the shop, I don't think he ever spent any money on some actual real "tires" which everyone knows he should, a $4,500 motor requires some money spent on tires.
i bought a SBF swap with the Grannys basic kit from a guy on here. i fully planned on doing the 5.0 roller w/ a carb setup and the AOD. but i want to sell this car and itd be worth more w/ original parts than a V8 swap... so thats the main reason why i havent finished it. im planning on trading the V8 swap to a guy i met up in Tally for his stock S5 long block + cash. then after that, maybe ill try to pick up an S5 vert and do an EFI 302 and T5 setup.
i do beleive granny's now has a complete bolt-in conversion kit for a Ford 9".
Granny's has all the info on their page discussing how to do the wiring and install the kit and setup your speedo and tach.
it takes little to no real skill to do the V8 swap. hell, if people are building T2's in the backyards of puertorico with little to no real mechanical knowledge, its no different than the good ol boys swappin V8's into these damn Jap cars. you dont have to know how to work on RX7's to take the shit out and put a V8 in, especially when its carb'd.
