what kind of engine swaps can you put into a miata with little to no modifacations.

ive seen miatas with 13b 13bt engines and a common swap is sr20det engine in it, but since thats a nissan engine you gotta do some serious wiring shit.

ive i had the knowledge and the money id like to do a 13bt swap in a miata.

turbo the stock motor, its a good strong motor, im almost positive its iron block closed deck. im sure it would love boost .. not too sure on the internals though

yeah it is closed deck, internals vary by year. If you want to boost it stick with 94-97 1.8L as it had stronger rods good for 15psi easily or if you get a 1.6L car they are just as well. The 99+ motors have weaker rods only good for ~10psi or so as well as higher compression and a way better flowing head which is why they can make similar HP with less boost.

If you want SUPER power that's somewhat affordable to swap and maintain go with a 5.0 Ford conversion. That's scary power in a Miata.

Or look into the coldside Ubercharger at Flyin' Miata, it seems to be the rage these days.
