overkill for sure on a street car. it's not like there is a crank down there to cause any windage losses. some fd guys run into issues with sensitive ball bearing turbos and some backing up of the oil drain at the track etc.. on the up side the rails might be reinforced to help it not leak like a biotch

Yeah I know its not going to help much on a daily driven car,Unless you are driving it cross country.

The down side it looks like they didnt use a paper gasket.

I personally would use to paper gaskets, with a small amount of black rtv.
Do you know what they recommend?

Also i was wondering if it would effect the flow thats needed to be working properly. It might not matter since its the pick up tube thats picking up the oil,the pans just letting the oil not to slosh around in there. But it seem slike it might effect it by not letting the right amount of oil to flow back down.

i have never used a gasket on the pans.
make sure the oil pan rails are flat especialy around the bolt holes.
clean, clean and clean it again. the pan and the mounting surfaces
you can use the old school trick of getting a center punch and making a bunch of small dimples in the block all along where the pan mates to it.
use a good sealer, ford makes a nice rtv that you shoot from a caluk gun, i like it. permatex makes some nice stuff also

as for the drain back, it is a non issue. the baffles actually help keep the pick up tube covered under spirited driving like you were thinking
