Did mazda ever make a RX7 with it? ive seen swaps into a fd before and i know the 787B has a 26b in it. But i thought mazda produced a limited edition FD with it. I know in Japan and austrial they have cars with 20b's factory.

I think they only used the R26b for race cars,.

 

I was wrong it wasnt a RX7 that got the 20b only the JC Cosmo had it. I thought they made a limited edition FD with the 20b in it.

 

I think there is a car in Japan that has the 26B.

 

I saw a picture on the Monito website of a FC prototype with a non turbo 20B.

 

the FC was originally made to be equiped with a cosmo 20b engine. howeva!!!, the bastard could not pass the emissions bullshit and safety bitches. so it was demoted to a 6port na and 4 port turbos. thats why, when you remove all dat bullshit on the FC you got enough space for another engine. lol

 

The Cosmo came in 2 trims,
13B REW-Cosmos (sister engine of the FD's 13B RE)
20B (3 rotor)

Both cars had only auto trannies.

We did get a Cosmo here in the states,the RX5 Cosmo.Very ugly car.
It had a 13B carbed if I recall.

If you guys know how the engine comes apart,you can make a 4 rotor or 6 rotor engine.Its the eccentric shaft that needs to be custom,but someone does sell a 3 rotor custom e shaft..Either RB or Mazdatrix..


People have been running n/a 3 rotor engines here.
Jesus Padialla was running this in his car for the first few seasons of the all motor import division (drag racing)well they banned him from running the engine,he now runs a 13b all motor,mid 9s.In a first gen.

I think i might have pics of his 20 b set up.

 

I have seen a factory built FC with a naturally aspirated 20b. It had 210hp but they only trying it out, I wonder if the weight shifted from the 49.2 - 50.8 ratio.

 

Why did they banned Jesus Padilla's 20b motor? because it was winning too much, just like they did to Mazda in Le Mans.

 

I dont have an exact answer on that.Basically the engine is a 2.0L engine,there were cars with close to the same size engine,and bigger in his class.But since hsi car was a rotary,they added more rules just for the rotarys.

Anyways,when they banned his car,he came back a year later 13B n/a running 1 sec faster,nowe into the 9s.. all motor.. stock chassis.. stock wheel wells,and the car is like 2200 lbs.I got pics of that floating around in my comp.
