12a guru needed!
I got an 85' gsl from a fellow member on TR for a good price. Nice body, good interior just needs some attention twoards the motor. When I got it, it would not idle, just stall. I removed the air cleaner and on closer inspection I noticed the line for the idle componsator was broke at the "T". I plugged it up and it will now idle at 600rpms with sometimes it will go down to like 300 but not often. It is EXTREMELY SLOW, I know there is something wrong somewhere, it doesn't want to rev above 4k when I'm driving down the street. I checked the accelerator pump and it squirts a nice steady stream. It's doesn't cut out so I have not check any of the ignition yet. Could the secs on my carb be clogged or messed up, or could some hidden vac leaks do this? I just need a point in the direction cause this carb'd 12a is wayyy different than my 13bt.

Running,the car neded to be tuned out,needed a battery,and a few misc things..

ooh just to let you know,99.9% of the stock first gens out there the carb needed to be adjusted bad!I set all the adjustments to stock,the car idled at 900 purred like a kitten and when got on it hard... no power
So fuck the timing gun,adjusted air/fuel idle/timing all by hearing and feel.. Now the car pulls hard chirps third easy with bullshit pressure plate on a 4 puck unsprung,gets into redline with no hesitation.

nope, never had a rotary crap out on me. Engine doesn't shake at all, starts everytime. I took out the plugs and got strong pulses all across. I'm going to change the plugs, check if my secs are stuck, if so I'll just wire them open. The car is white, pretty decent red interior, body is perfect besides the front bumper and missing the antenna. It's worth for what I paid for it, to me atleast. At least it's a gsl
