I have a 05 mazda 3 type s 2.3 163hp automatic. I'm buying a intake should i get aem or injen i hear good about both. I'm looking for the most hp and i should also get cai right, not short ram?

It's hot in florida, CAI would be better unless you've got a whole lot of air flow under the hood.

Go with CAI if you want to have your engine rebuilt. Most CAI intakes throw the filter way down low to where water can get sucked up into it, and since people think "oh, the company made it like this so it should be fine" wrong, I'd see how low the CAI puts the filter before you buy. CAI's not worth it, you'll gain like 2hp over short ram but you won't be able to drive through puddles.

i have the K&N typhoon in my car......and i love it.....plus its great for FL...i can convert from CAI...to SRI.....when its rainy so i dont suck up any water or anything in a puddle



arent u on some other forums as well???

have u been to any of the local meets??? like the dealer BBQ or anything....from msprotege.com or floridamazdaclub.com???

I was thinking more along the lines of a cold air box with the filter shielded from the engine heat. but yeah... CAI's that put the filter down to the bottom of the car are a BAD THING
