84 rx7 motor and trans.........
i am going to be pulling a 12a motor and trans soon and am going to sell them......
how much do these go for?
its the 12a motor with a 5 speed and everything, a/c all the stuff, the motor doesnt run (that i know of) and supposedly just needs new apex seals......
whats a good ballpark price? i looked on the net but everyone just has new motors or parts........

ok,
If it needs apex seals,then theres a 99.9% chance that the rotor housing/rotor can be scarred,which means that only half of the engine is good,
I personally wouldnt pay much for A core engine,maybe $50.
12A are nothing rare,either are 5 speed N/A trannies.
Your talking about another $30-$50. for the tranny
core engines are dime a dozen,I have given them away free to friends in the past..
You cant really say "It just need apex seals" cause theres more to it then that,with the older rotary engines,theres a chance the rotor housings can be flaking,or just corroted (sp) coolant passes

oh, well i dont really need the motor and trans or a new one.... its getting the secret 5.0 port job done to it........
i just wanted to know a rough asking price to get rid of the stuff........ i mean if they are worth alot i would like to get some of what they are worth, but if not no big deal.........
so i take it that if the apex seals are gone the motor is a good paperweight and the trans isn't worth much either......
BTW this is the complete motor woth all accesories...... they have to be worth more than free, somehting off of this car has to be hard to get........

The only intake and carb worth getting are the 79-80,
What else is on the engine?
Smog pump..garbage
A/C.. no one uses them much on first gens
Spider rack (vacume assembley on top of the engine) garbage
Oil cooler on the engine garbage
The ONLY thing I would consider "rare" would maybe be the distributor,I worked out a deal with Deez92,he needed one,he said he payed around $60. for the last one he payed cash for.
Call around some shops and ask them,Thats the problems with some of these junk yards,they think they are rare and gold

The one good rotor housing and rotor should sell,But I hope you know what to look for to determin that,If you need help just PM me..
