Default lost compression

Looks like I lost compression on the rear rotor now. Life for the next few days/weeks/months is gonna suck. Especially since I'll probably be driving that damn Tempo, after I see if it can be fixed ):

Anyone willing to help putting humpty dumpty (my MX-6) back together again is welcome. I'd like to get a final status on it, as to whether it's gonna be running good, or still have problems. I'm just starting to really struggle with some of the piping and such that probably should be much easier than I'm making it ):

I think all that's left is the intercooler piping (one piece) some intake piping, air box, radiator and hoses, some exhaust bolts, lower intake manifold bolts, belts of course, and it should be able to run. Then I need some replacement bolts for ones that were missing/broken before.

huh? I didn't say I was gonna sell it. I'd be interested in what it'd cost to have the motor rebuilt possibly, or replacing it...but of course that will probably have to wait, hence getting the Tempo fixed, and putting the MX-6 back together.

I'm sure I could get the car to Tampa to get it looked at.
I just went out to the car to check compression. Front rotor "swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh" indistinguishable one from the next. Rear rotor "swoosh, puh, puh, swoosh" pretty much evident what's happened.

I'll have the Tempo to the shop here to see about the front end getting repaired. Can't afford to fix it, can't afford not to.

Meantime I guess I need to lock myself in the garage until I get the MX-6 back together.

Ported? I assume it has ports

No, as far as I know, it's just a old stock motor.

Someone on rx7club.com suggested the apex seal could be popped back on the spring or something...basically saying there's a slim chance that it's still salvageable.

I'm going at 1pm to get the Tempo looked at, hopefully we can drive it until I get the MX-6 back together (should be a few days) and then make the decisions on the RX-7.

I've yet to tinker with the exhaust end of it...I'd like to look inside to see the seals for myself, perhaps after getting the other car on the road, I'll have more time to do that.

I was up till 2:30 last night. My fingers are all cut up.

The MX-6 ended up with 90-90-90-60 compression. I might try oil in the cylinders to see if that goes up, which then I guess my piston rings are shot. Figured they were before, but imagine how long it would have taken for me to do that too. We'd be on alternative fuels when I finish.

The RX-7 I put the only ATF I had around (at midnight, I'm not walking to Wal-mart 5 miles away) was from a box of Amsoil synthetic ATF. Never got around to changing it in the Tempo, so I guess this is a good of use as any.

Put it in, turned the engine by hand around 1:30 to slosh the stuff around to cover stuff better. Hopefully it's just a bit of carbon.

Now when I start this...there's gonna be quite a bit of ATF in there...I should purge it first right? Had I been starting the car at night I wouldn't care...but my neighbors are all up and walking around. Maybe I'll just start calling a game of bingo and catch em by surprise with the smoke show? (;

Anyhow...reading on rx7club.com I read to purge the ATF. I've turned it by hand some more this morning, both forward and backward, to maybe break whatever up that might be the problem.

We'll see.
