mx6 options
I'm assuming you went to mx6.com already, someone new just posted there.
If you would bother doing a search on that site, you will find that the n/a transmission is very weak. Of course it'll fit. The turbo motor is almost exactly the same as the n/a motor. Compression is higher in the n/a, and I believe the valves on the GT are heat treated or something...otherwise, basically the same motor.
However, as I pointed out, the transmission is weak in the n/a. So you'll need to get the GT transmission out of a 88-92 MX-6 or 626 GT, or 89-92 Probe GT. I'm not sure with the Probes, they had a V6 in one of the years...dunno which though, think it was 89. After getting the GT transmission, you'll find that the axles for the n/a are too small (weak as well) and you'll need new axles too. That's not all, there are write-ups on mx6.com detailing the conversion, and several have tried.
So as I said, I'd rather recommend getting a GT than converting a DX or LX. But that's up to you.
I know of a GT being sold probably sometime in January or February, hopefully cheap. I posted it on here a while ago, it's in what I'd consider bad condition. But it runs, and I imagine with some work the engine would be running well.
The 5-spd is fun to drive, even the n/a. I had one before...rides nice too.

Go there if you want FE3 info. Somehow, I think you missed it.

last she told me, she wanted $10,000.Realistically...probably more like $300-500. It does need work...I'd suggest finding the for sale thread, because there's a lot that is wrong with it, and I'd rather not guess at listing it again.
Major stuff I'd be concerned with-
Power Steering is shot. Oil in the reservoir...black oil. No idea why. A/C doesn't work. Interior is in poor shape. Passenger seatbelt buckle needs replaced (recall item).
She's been driving the car that way for quite a while, so it gets around.
Yeah, it's a 5-speed. The transmission was worked on about 2 years ago I believe. Sounds like something is loose with the linkage though, would look at that first. Between the transmission and engine it's probably worth $500. Wouldn't up the boost on it though, not till the transmission and engine checks out good.
Just be aware that she won't part with it until at least next year, whenever she gets her tax return. And the last person on here that wanted to buy it, she never got back to. I did all the talking, she wouldn't call or write!
