FS; 1990 GTUs, 1 of 100 verifiable, $1800
-INTRO-
well, ive decided, i need to sell this car. i keep having these crazy ideas of motor swaps and im simply a few phone calls away from disgracing a truely rare car. someone NEEDS to take this car away from me because im making steps to install a Roller 302 V8 and T5 because its cheaper than rebuilding the 13B. I would much rather see someone take this car who has the time and money to restore it properly because i dont right now.
-SERVICE-
its been my bone-stock daily driver for the past 2 years. its served me QUITE well. It has NEVER ever let me down, save for a few maintenance items that needed replacing. the ONLY thing that has ever gone wrong with this car is a Clutch Slave line, replaced with Mazdatrix Braided SS line; Alternator, replaced with new unit and belt; TB coolant line under manifold, replaced and bypassed w/ full TB mod; Seized 6PI, completely removed ACV and 6PI system/sleeves [(VDI is now actuated via ball valve-regulated Air pump) OMP lines broke, now replaced w/ PTFE lines]; stock AM/FM radio, replaced with N.O.S. unit; Automatic Seatbelts, replaced with S4 manual belts; Front brakes, pads replaced and properly bedded and brake fluid flushed; Headlight switch, replaced w/ tested unit; Wiper switch, replaced w/ Icemark-refurbished unit.
-UPGRADES-
the only mods i have done to this car are Full TB mod, ACV/6PI removal, custom K&N FIPK, "massive" SpeedStar Racing wheels.
-DRIVABILITY-
When i bought the car, it came from West Palm beach, and has been in Florida its ENTIRE life. I have the original Owner's/Operator's Manual and dealer documentation as well as the Business car of the original Salesman. Also, i have the introductory Cassett Tape. Ironically, the GTUs only came with an AM/FM radio, so you cant even listen to the tape in the car its meant for. The previous owner had the clutch and motor mounts replaced before i picked up the car. He also had a Test pipe installed between the stock manifold and y-pipe; no cats. THIS CAR WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS TESTING. i think ive only put 16k on the car. the Odometer now reads 160k on the original engine. starts, and runs Every time. I just went on a road trip with the car, it performed flawlessly. 610 miles each way, 10 hours straight at 3800rpm @ 80mph. the car averaged 23mpg and can get 360 miles per tank with 1/8 tank left before empty.
-HISTORY-
This car was SOLD at King mazda in 1990 as a Mazda RX-7 GTU Type-S... not a GTUs, oddly enough. Registration, Title and Mazda of America has this car verified as a GTU. The Firewall VIN has also been restamped as a 1990 Model year, superceding the 1989 Model year originally stamped. This Verifies further the fact that all GTUs models were produced in the 1100 unit run for the 1989 model year. this is one of the ONE HUNDRED units that were sold as 1990 models. this is THE rarest of rare RX7's ever sent to the United States. The original color is Nobel White. the car has EVERY feature/option(deleted) that a GTUs has;
-VERIFICATION-
-Wiperless hatch
-No sunroof
-AM-FM radio
-Fixed steering column
-Crank Windows
-Manual locks
-Cruise control Delete
-Turbo II Brakes
-Turbo II specific spring rates/shock valving
-Turbo II Specific anti-roll bars
-GTUs/SPort specific Aluminum hood
-Turbo II specific door jamb sticker for 205-55-R16 tires
-Turbo II specific 16x7 Mesh-style wheels
-Fog light Delete
-A/C Dealer installed option
-GTUs Specific 4.30 Viscous LSD
-GTUs Specific half shafts
-GTUs Specific revised Transmission Gearset (EXACTLY 80mph @ 3800 rpm)
-FLAWS-
The only down side to this car is that it was neglected by its previous owners and was cursed with poor quality mazda paint. there is a fault in the primer and the paint flakes off. Also, the previous owner was side-swiped by a SUV in a parking garage; ive replaced the passenger fender and door, but i still need to pull the rear quarter panel and repaint the car. the Front driver corner was also backed into by a 2004 Civic, so the driver fender also needs swapped out. the driver door also has rust on it, i would like to replace it as well. As for anything else, it suffers from problems associated with an average 15 year old RX7. Inside the car, the driver seat is worn on the side bolster from entry and exit; as to be expected on a 15 year old car. the rear hatch carpet is shot and needs replaced. while converted the seat belts to the manual S4 components, i also changed the interior panels to fit the S4 seat belts, as well as the rear bins. There are no electrical problems to speak of. The triangle defroster vents are missing and the rear speaker covers are broken too. The motor runs and drives solidly. Oil control rings/O-rings are showing age. car smokes on random cold starts but not consistantly. car smokes ONLY under sustained peak vaccum (Ex; Gear braking from 8000 down to 2000 rpm) and never under idle, cruise, part throttle accel or WOT accel.
-PICTURES-

Bottom Line;
$1800 w/ stock wheels
$2800 w/ SSR's 17x8 Front, 17x9 Rear
NO TRADES, CASH TALKS, NO PAYMENTS, NO LAYAWAY
thanks

there is almost a divid in the FC world, people who love zenki's and people who love kouki's and you notice it when you've been posting on rx7 forums for 4+ years.
oh, yes, i see what you mean now. they changed a bit of the stuff, the aesthetic stuff for the better though. the interior bits are a bit better like the guages, steering wheel, center stack trim, added door speakers, light-weight body colored side moulding, tail lights, front end, rear bumper, wing.

PM'd back... dont waste my time w/ Lowball, half-ass offers. This isnt a GTU or a GXL, so dont expect to pay GTU or GXL prices. expect to pay the price of a limited production car with the knowledge that you probably wont see another one in your life.
