Before I could stop him with warnings and points, the poster went berserk and.... he started

reporting posts of mine one right after another as spam or whatever he could think up.

Between 7:52PM and 8:09PM he had reported...............55 posts.............. as spam.

Yes, you read that right, in 17 MINUTES he had clicked the "report spam" button FIFTY FIVE TIMES!


That is over 200+...posts per hour.....TWO HUNDRED reported posts PER HOUR!

I knew his antics were going to cause extra work for someone to look at all those posts

and if Admin actually took time to read my posts which were falsely reported as spam, etc,


then Admin would see that everything I had posted was within the appropriate thread.


Before the berserk poster could create more work for Admin and tie up Tampa Racing further,
I gave him enough points to stop his actions.

Some of those posts that were falsely declared as spam are ones that are continuous and
are updated as newer information on the same subject comes in.


Subscribed readers will go back to threads which they have read part of before and read
the updated information which gives TR a higher number of readers of those posts.

Then I got an email from an early TR monitor asking me "Why was I deleting people?".

I wasn't deleting "people". I just stopped a jerk from turning TR into a shambles


which ADMIN will now have to take time to clean up later.


Although the easy thing is just to delete my posts instead, but unfortunately deleting my posts,
will drive some readers away. as well as lower our post count.

Consider this:
Since clicking the "report post" button was faster for him than actually posting something offensive....

WHAT EXTRA WORK WOULD HE HAVE CREATED FOR ADMIN IF I HAD NOT STOPPED HIM

AND HE HAD GONE FOR HOURS REPORTING POSTS at 200+ per hour, or 55 posts every 17 minutes?

Once I stopped him from turning Tampa Racing into a destroyed website, I then had time to go back, clean up, and


delete some of his cussing, etc , and replace it with dots, and change the title to "

Time to say goodbye"

Below is what it looks like:.........and you can see what words HE left for Admin as a signature,

as a way of him saying something improper to whoever has to go back and clean up his crap.
I have not clicked on it.........but you will see one of those "in your face " messages at every one of his posts.

Was he trying to tell us that he wanted to get kicked off Tampa racing?

That's right.

Someone may have agreed with the berserk poster that a thread telling readers about the scams

appearing in their email boxes almost every day of Tampa Racing readers

.........was ruled as spam...

and that entire thread was just deleted without anyone reading it to see what it was about.

There were THOUSANDS of views of that forum.

There were hundreds of hours of research.

The posts sometimes had variations in the wording and readers could see that.

The posts told of how scammers used tricks to get you to click the hidden virus links.

The posts told of who the multiple email scammers were and showed examples of their frequent postings.

And those thousands of views were the most popular thread on Tampa Racing.

Back when TCS was posting their links and other crap on TR and trying to drive away TR readers,
TCS had suggested that I should quit posting.

I at that time, INCREASED my number of posts....sometimes over 20+ per day.

TR membership rose from 102,000 to almost 109,000. The most number of readers that TCS ever had was 90 and that was on their opening day.

When TCS quit posting on their OWN site, (taking their own advice to quit posting...and quit typing) their number of readers dropped and eventually
1. TCS had no one posting. With no new content for readers to look forward to,
2. people quit reading that site, and
3. TCS views dropped , then without views,
4. NO ONE went to TCS.... and when advertisers left,
5. TCS went out of business.
It may be that advertisers leave when readers are driven away. from a business.

Deleting our number one most popular thread, (the one where I had posted the email scams to watch out for) will first have the effect of loss of readers.
The people who had subscribed to it can no longer find it and cannot read it any more and already I can see the number of people coming to TR has decreased.

Maybe we are about to see if deleting content will increase our readers.

2. Changing smoothblacksrt from "banned" to "TR bala donor supreme" (which he never was) under his name was a bad move by someone and shows that someone endorses and approves his actions. Maybe we are about to see if endorsing bad behavior will increase our readers coming to TR.

Tim, you and I both know why number of "members" signing on has increased......... However,
This morning instead of 200+ people "online" reading at TR, it was 53.
Maybe we can watch the numbers of "online" readers for a few days.......while someone thinks about reinstating TR's most popular thread.

I joined Tampa Racing in 2005 before IB Brands took over
and 14 years before Robb M. joined.

I have averaged over 13 posts per day for years, and all on topic.
I have thousands of views of my posts and maybe I care too much.

I would have never deleted without at least looking...... at the most well read and most subscribed thread on this site
.......deleted based on a jerk reporting it as spam on a whim......
along with his reporting spam to 55 other randomly picked threads.

Deletion under those circumstances......it is illogical to delete under those circumstances,
and so was someone else giving a "like" to someone posting foul language.

My actions were all about protecting the site.
It has nothing to do with "getting under skin".

I had already let the guy go when I stopped his berserk site-destroying behavior.
I agree with you, Tim. Maybe it's time to change the topic.

 

Why I should not talk here:
1. It is never a good idea to discuss a TR problem openly in an open forum for all to see.
It is better to discuss solving TR problems on the phone.

2. It was never a good idea for someone to delete TR's most popular thread, which severely affected our TR post count,
and also essentially to remove all the people who had subscribed to that thread.

It would have been much better to at least discuss the mass deletion before it was done.

Removing their subscriptions pretty much guarantees they will not find their way back.
and I can no longer put in the research time to re-create the thousands of posts I had posted,
and no longer have time to re-start the thread,

letting it go.
