Senor Honda's events by date: an attempt to organize postings,
......and clear some of the local events clutter.

I'm trying something new in this thread for the event notices that I personally post. You will have to check
every week since I post by date.............. in between events, without sending the thread to the top. I get
a lot of event invites, sometimes out of order. sometimes several months in advance.....and sometimes at
the last minute.

Events listed by date will make it easier for a TR member to find either what is happening
this weekend, or what is coming up in the future.

I'm going to be listing my events in order by date so instead of a person having to wade through TR's first
two pages, some with a date in the subject, and some without an event date. Everything that I personally
post here in my thread will be in date order. Everything I personally post here will have a link to past events
so a person can read up on the last time that event took place.

Other people are still free to post in "local events" as they have always done.-Bob

6 October Dover Rod Run, Bluegrass Jam and Pinewood Derby.

This event is scheduled only three times during the year (January, April, and October)

Next one will be January 2013

19-20 October 2012 The Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival -Bob

The Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival & Auction
Now in its 13th year, the Lake Mirror Classic is considered one of the “must do” collector car shows in the southeastern United States. The display of more than 600 show vehicles on and surrounding the restored 1920’s, art deco-inspired Lake Mirror promenade in downtown Lakeland, Florida provides one of the most scenic venues in the country. The event is known for its beautiful lakefront setting and friendly atmosphere. In addition to attracting over 35,000 spectators, the Lake Mirror Classic draws top car collectors from the southeast and serves as a support event to the prestigious Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.
The Lake Mirror Classic has become a source of pride for the city of Lakeland. Area residents and public officials welcome the opportunity to showcase Lake Mirror Park and historic downtown to thousands of visiting car show guests. The event has helped raise of $250,000 for various local non-profit groups since its inception in 1999.

British racing driver Brian Redman will serve as Honorary Chairman for the 2012 Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival. During his professional racing career Brian raced as a factory team driver for Ford, Ferrari, Porsche, Cooper, Williams, Chaparral, Jaguar, Chevron and McLaren. He is a two-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring and a three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona. He won three consecutive Formula 5000 Championships driving Lolas. In Formula One, Brian drove for Cooper BRM and placed third at the 1968 Spanish Grand Prix. In 1969 he was a team driver for the World Championship winning Gulf-Wyer Porsche Factory Team.
Brian Redman has been inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in Detroit as well as the Hall of Fame in Sebring and Talledega.

Budweiser Hot Rod Rendezvous (Opening event)
Start your engines for the Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival weekend on Friday night at Lake Mirror Park. The Budweiser Hot Rod Rendevous is an outdoor concert and car show held on the promenade around Lake Mirror. Junior and MDs , a perennial favorite of the Lake Mirror Classic, will rock the night with their special blend of rock and classics.
When the band takes a break over 100 hot rods will fire up their engines and make some music of their own. NHRA drag racer, Jerry Baltes, will make a special appearance and fire-up his 1964 Record setting Top Fuel Dragster.
This event is open to Hot Rods and Custom Cars built prior to 1960.

Concours d’Elegance
The Concours d’Elegance is the featured event of the Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival weekend. Approximately 100 premium automobiles are invited to be judged by a team of AACA and CCCA experts. (Participating vehicles must be 1972 or older and invited by the Concours Selection Committee. Space restrictions require us to limit the number of cars in each category. Applicants must submit photos and a separate Concours application to be considered.)

Open Car Show
The streets of downtown Lakeland are all closed to accommodate nearly 500 collector cars of all types. Cars are grouped with similar types or by Car Clubs. Imports, Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Model As, Corvettes and Mustangs are just a few of the many focus groups.

I work very hard to make as many ppl happy as possible- we will have an all day band for kids when their parents pay 5$ and they can have a blast in one of the biggest bounce houses. as well as events games for fun and raffle items, and the raffles- including a 50/50 raffle. cant wait to see you all there- Senor Honda I'm expecting your going to be there early so we will be there at 12 starting to set up and vendor roll in is at 230- see u there. -Celigirl

Just tell them you are in the car show. Get a free magazine and registration
sheet for your windshield to the west of the train station parking lot at 102 Palmer.

27 October 2012 St Georges Greek Church 11AM -2PM

Just a quick note to let you know that St George's Church On Little Road In N.P.R. is heaving a 3 day festival IN Oct. and they also want a Car show on Sat Oct 27,2012 . They say between 3,000 and 8,000 people pass through there on that weekend. They are having all kinds of Different foods, There will be a lot of dance contest I think they said 14. So it Will not be boring, It should be very entertaining, We will have 50's & 60's music. There will be 50 Trophies plus a 4 foot trophy for best all around. Dash Plaques. Money give away. For more info ck. the flyer attached. All your Car show friends Will be there. Bring your chairs and have some fun.

With the growing support from the community for our Simply Clean annual event, we have moved to a new location that just so happens to be in the area of one of the biggest wheel companies in the industry… Complete Custom Wheel. CCW has agreed to open their bay doors for a few hours to host the Simply Clean 4 Pre Meet on Friday November 9th. An opportunity like this will be one to remember for those who have either wished to see where their favorite wheels get made or take a tour to get an idea of how wheels are made.

We are so blessed to have a fourth installment of our Simply Clean event that we have decided to pick an organization to give back to. “Pathways To Care, a program of Catholic Charities of Central Florida, is a not-for-profit assisted Living facility which provides recuperative care to homeless men & women recovering from an acute illness of injury.” With over 3,000+ people in attendance at SC3, we know that we can help make those in need have a great Thanksgiving by collecting your donations of canned goods and non perishable foods.
We are also happy to announce that we have moved the location to a huge complex in Ormond Beach called Destination Daytona. It has its very own hotel on the property for that up close and personal experience along with a few shops, restaurants and a bar to knock back a few brew’s with the homies. We’re positive you will be just as excited about it as we are!!!!!

A followup from PT Photography:
Thank you to everyone who came out to the event today. We had a huge turnout at Cars & Coffee (over 50 cars) and we had 36 cars join us on the 80-mile road rally. It was good, clean, fast fun.

The most important part is the massive amount of toys and cash donations we received for the Toys for Tots foundation. All proceeds generated from today's run are going directly to the kids.

Thank you again and see you next year!

Toys for tots car/bike/truck show
THE PASCO COUNTY HITMEN WILL BE HOSTING A TOYS FOR TOTS CAR SHOW ON DECEMBER 1ST AT HAMMER HEADS BILLIARDS AND LOUNGE 1916 US HWY 19 HOLIDAY FLORIDA.
