Hey guys just looking to see if there is any meets in the Land o lakes area.I have only found old threads from 4 years ago about meets in (LOL) so trying to see if any are still around.Thanks,Matt

We could start one up? I wouldnt mind having something to do locally while waiting for the wife to get out of work at night.

 

You might check Local Events for the Hudson meet.....Not that far from
Land O Lakes. This Saturday 10th is Stuff the XB in New Port Richey
from 1PM to 5PM.....Last year there were wings, hot dogs, popcorn and drinks.
They are collecting toys for kids.

Finding a Meet....a Couple Ways....
Sometimes people ask in Local Events, or when we are talking at some of the meets which I go to: "Senor Honda, where is the location of a meet on a certain evening.?"
Example:
"Any frequent spots to meet up at on Fri/Sat night?One of my answers is:
There is something going on almost every night.
Keep checking the first two/three pages of local events.
Post on their thread asking if they are still meeting in that spot.
Few people are going to answer your question if you ask in Local
Events....local events is mostly for "posting" events instead of asking about them.

keep checking Local Events.

Check the Tech forums for various type cars.......
example: Brand X car guys will post a meet in their Brand X tech forum.
If you are a respectful person, they might not mind you hanging out with them.

I go to a lot of meets where I don't have that type car, but people who are friends
have that type car, and I go to hang out with my friends....the type car is irrelevant.
Real car guys don't care what you drive. The friendship, and being around other car

cool but i still say a weekday meet in luts/land o lakes/area would be fun... maybe a tuesday/wednesday meet? I'll scope out some spots and talk to the owners of the locations and see what I can find. I know there are a ton of people who wanna show off your rides but your workday weekends are during the week.

 

senor honda thanks for the info,it helped alot...ek ya we should try and get one together.Check some spots out and let me know.Its not gonna be easy to start one but should be really cool if it works out.I am new to FL and the area so i really dont know anyone with nice rides that would wanna meet.So i wanted to see if there were any meets so i can start meeting people and hanging out. I far as lots and places.Ever here of ichiban buffet in village lakes shopping center in land of lakes ? the food good,cheap and they got pretty big empty lot (i work right next to it so i see it everyday) its just a suggestion as far a places/lots.I will keep searching and see what i can find.How many people do you think you can get to show up ?

 

I can get a good few people and I can get word to spread quick thats not a problem. the problem is cops are so hot in the area that we must have permission from the owners to allow us to gather on the property. there are a few spots i'm looking into I'll make a thread for this if I find anything available. I remember a time that any day of the week there was a meet going on somewhere so if i missed one i could go to a different one the next day. I wanna see Tampa back in the scene.

 

kk sounds good.Ya my redneck buddys used to post up at mcdonlads and cops came and finally kick them out after like 4 meets.Ya tampa really needs to get back in the scene.I here the USF meet gonna be pretty good and is gaining hype pretty quick so hopefully turns out good and we need more meets like it.

You might be onto something........car guys always want to eat.....good food....cheap cost...
big parking lot...... good combination. Can the meet cars be easily seen from the road? At some
meets they cut on their flashers to attract drive-by traffic. Closed hoods are just a parked car,
but open hoods are a meet! At Best Buy in Tampa, the cars are as close as they can get to the road....and people spread as the crowd gets bigger.

All meets start small, sometimes two guys with hoods up and a pizza......

Sometimes when I go into a restaurant close to a meet, I say words
to the effect: "I stopped by to look at those import cars out there and thought I would come
in and spend some money while I was here." They can see that, but when I tell them, it's
a little like "paying rent" (so to speak) on the parking lot..... LOL I want to get it in their
mind that if the cars were not there, I would not be there with my wallet out...... LOL
