Carrabelle Speed Festival October 22nd, 2011!!

WannaGOFAST.com is proud to present our second event of 2011 at the Carrabelle-Thompson airport in Carrabelle, FL. The Carrabelle Speed Festival is well.....all about SPEED! Test your vehicle and driving skills on an open runway. We will be doing standing HALF MILE races all day long!! The best part is that we are allowing head to head competition instead of solo runs like other airstrip events. The theme will be classic grudge match style racing from a roll or a dig! Hit speeds you only dreamed about on a ¼ mile track in a fun and safe environment!

Come join us for what is sure to be an exciting day of speed and entertainment! We will have a live DJ spinning tracks all day long and food provided from the Pit Stop Grill!

TopSpeed Motorsports (Top Speed Motorsports High Performance Cars Custom Modifications Go Faster) is one of the premier tuning and performance shops in the nation! TDC Performance (Auto Performance Experts Mobile, AL ( Alabama ) - TDC Performance) is the only auto performance enhancement center in Mobile, AL. They specialize in dyno tuning and have EFI Certified Tuners to take care of all your specialized tuning needs. TDC's main focus is building drag cars for a wide variety of vehicle manufacturers to include Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Honda. OK..........$130 if I register in advance........ Got it!
Limited parking for this big event, so we have to carpool........
$25 each for my 3 passengers............$75 ...Got it!
I guess if they don't fall asleep and can keep their eyes open
while I'm driving, we can call them "spectators" and save some money.......

$205 and no valet parking........darn.....
That's $205 divided by 4 guys=aproximately $51.25 each........

I will need a one mile head start.......to get my speed up before entering the 1/2 mile......
For $205 .........as slow as my car is, can we stop 1/4 way down the strip
while whoever is driving does a driver change and passes our one helmet
to the next guy who will be driving?

Question 2 is........do you have a map to get to this place?

Ohh, I guess a third question is...
Is this one of those abandoned airports where they do drug drops at night?

I don't race at places where we have to cut the lock off the gate.

Bob. This is an active airport not an abandoned runway. If you google map Carrabelle-Thompson airport it pops right up. This is a very reasonable price for a runway event. As long as your "passengers" don't ride with you down the runway their cost is $10. If they want to ride it's $25, driving however will be $130.

 

OK.
So we have a total of four guys in the car who will take turns and do a driver swap
1/4th of the way down the 1/2 mile at $130 each. That comes to $520 for the first run.

If we can squeeze out a second run, that drops the cost per run down to $260 per run.
If the car will last through a mind-blowing third run, that drops the cost per run to $173 per run.....
and if by some miracle should my car last for 520 runs it gets down to $1.00 per run.
I think a buck per run is one heck of a deal!

To add some pizazz to the event, one of our guys has a set of coveralls that are bright orange
with a reflective yellow stripe down the leg......not your average run-of-the-mill driving suit.

We have obtained two sponsors.
On the back, also in reflective capitol letters, it says "Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department"
and a large logo from Target Department Stores.

March 12th is the SCCA National Tour in Cecil, GA.

They also do this event in S FL correct?

 

Thats assuming they would even allow your car to run Bob! LMAO

 

I like your sense of humor........ If this was an SCCA road course
with a 1/2 mile straight, it might be called Solo I or Solo II and roll
bars, helmets and fire suits might be required.-Bob

 

Milemarker-1 did an event in Miami. However, they are awaiting re-approval from the county.
