Tuner Challenge!
Well I will be there watching air/fuel readings and if someone is running extremly lean i will let them know! And if they blow it up they will get the worst tuner award and leave with a nice worst tuner trophy! This will just be an all out fun event! And have people from all over the tampa bay area get to know each other! Even other shops! Its allways good to make friends with other shops! helps everyone out in the long run!
Thanks, Carter
Thanks, Carter

Carter,
I know you are trying to run a fun event however, this kind of challenge is honestly not a smart idea. Why?
I am guessing the boost level will have to be the same for all tuners correct?
Regardless the facts are:
Runing the motor lean is not going to kill the motor during this event, detonation due to too much spark advance will be the issue at hand.
Sitting on the sidelines while some one else tries to extract power out of a vehicle & simply monitoring the a/f ratios is not going to stop detonation, you can have a "safe" a/f ratio & still have knock conditions.
The tuner who has the vehicle first has the greatest advantage. Why?
Lets say the motor is put through several passes by the first tuner with so much detonation it causes enough damage to effect the power output of the motor... At this point the contest is no longer a contest.
The event will become more of a test of seeing how much abuse the motor can handle before a component fails such as a ringland...
In my opinion it would be a waste of time to run such an event.

The motor probably won't "blow up" it will more then likely loose a ringland, sleeve or headgasket before throwing a rod & displaying real carnage.
