actually theres more then one reason for a cage and theres more then stated in your sig... 1-stiffening a car 2 control wheel hop 3 to tie in sub frame conectors... yea i understand some people throw a cage in just for the hell of it and to be the cool guy on the block but for the small % of people that actually do it to help the car it doesnt matter wether it runs a 8flat or a 13.5 witch is where its required for a convertiable car...
so your saying if you throw in a cage in a honda civic it's going to control the wheel hop.

i purchase a ford festiva that runs 22 sec in a 1/4,i'am going to stiffen my car up and control the wheel hop by installing a cage .lol

so now i'am going to run 24 sec and look cool .

wtf lembo snitch,not cool

well a roll cage by it's self wont make you pull a 1.5 60 foot, but when you combine a stiffer chassis, traction bars, stick tires, proper spring rates, shock valving and spring pre-load, it all works togather to increase the likelyhood of your car actually accelerating off the line. on a RWD theres alot of other factors that com into play, toe, camber, caster, pinion angle, most people dont realize that 90% of the things required to make a car hook cost next to nothing, just a little research and labor.

shit i've seen a pair of ratchet straps pull 2 tenths off the 1/4 mile time on a honda.

RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH its amazing what you can find on the internet.

my s13 will need the cage for NHRA regulations, but the supra is getting a cage as well and it will probably never do better than a 12.5. but for what i want to do with the car, the cage is well worth the time and small ammount of money required for installation in what it does for the chassis in terms of handling.
